As we journey through the final chapters of Revelation, we are reminded of a profound truth: the story of Scripture begins and ends with paradise. Pastor Ted recently took us back to where it all started in Genesis, tracing the path from a flawless beginning to the ultimate restoration promised for believers.
Think back to the dawn of creation. On the sixth day, God surveyed the universe and declared it "very good"—a realm of absolute perfection, untouched by sin. In the Garden of Eden, God walked closely with Adam, providing every tree, every river of life, and the deep, intimate fellowship of a loving Father. It was a place of complete innocence, where man and woman lived unashamed and fully united.
Yet, the paradise we long for was momentarily lost, overshadowed by the tests of the heart and the disruptions of a fallen world. But the message of the Gospel is one of enduring hope. While we navigate a world that seeks to strip away innocence and pull us away from our Creator, we look ahead to a promised future: a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells, and paradise is permanently restored.
